Great neutral and low drop lightweight running shoes

In the Brooks family, the PureFlow 6 is the simple and lightweight shoe with a great natural ride. It features a good cushioning but just enough to not interfere with the natural gait of the runner. In terms of sensations, it’s very similar to the great Nike Free 5.0 that has been discontinued a couple of years ago. We especially like the low drop and the great look of the shoe. Brooks also added more room in the forefoot section to please those of us who need space for their toes. If you are looking for great neural road running shoes and find the Brooks Ghost 10 a bit too cushioned then the PureFlow 6 is made for you.

Technologies

  • Outsole

The outsole of the Brooks PureFlow 6 is made of Blown Rubber. It’s a relatively hard material that is very durable and, therefore, well protected against abrasions. It also provides a good traction on urban terrains.

  • Midsole

Just like the Brooks Ghost 10, the PureFlow 6 features a BioMoGo DNA LT midsole. It’s a mix of two materials: environment-friendly BioMoGo foam and BioMoGo foam. The goal of this midsole is to provide a great and flexible cushioning. According to Brooks, BioMoGo DNA LT is 10% lighter than the other type of midsole traditionally used in Brooks shoes.

We also note Omega Flex Grooves strategically positioned in different places to nudge the runner towards the most natural running gait.

The shoe also has a Rounded Heel to wrap the foot in a natural way and enhance support. Finally, Brooks added the Dynamic Flex Grid technology in the forefoot part of the shoe to improve traction, especially during the toe off phase of the gait cycle.

  • Shoe upper

The upper is seamless, which means that the structure is built in one single piece without the use of stitching or overlays. This provides great flexibility and support that really give a sock-like feeling to the shoe. We also enjoy the soft material of the inner that prevents skin irritations.
